Change of copyright of magick++

Post by broucaries »

Dear cristy,

You change without announcement the copyright of magick++

Could you plesae clarify this change at least why you deleted "The copyright to Magick++ is
retained by its author and shall not be subsumed or replaced by any
other copyright."

You should mention at least this change on the changelog and why you are autorized to do so.
An email of the original author preferably cryptographically signed should be also included in the NOTICE.

If not please revert to the previous license as soon as possible.

I consider from a debian point of view that imagemagick is not distribuable in this state.

Thank you very much

[edit] IM-7.0.0 contains the new copyright for Magick++. IM-6.8.0 (and earlier) contains the original copyright. The phrase was deleted recently from Gr*phicsMagick/Magick++/COPYING, to make the license exactly the MIT license. As of November 17 Gr*phicsMagick's Mercurial repository contains the new copyright, identical to what's in IM7 except for the copyright year.
