APPCRASH error on export

I'm experiencing recurring errors when I try to export more than half a dozen images from Lightroom at once. I'm using only simple Mogrify functions - adding a border and a watermark, and need to export over 1000 images on a regular basis. I cannot resort to doing this 4 or 5 images at a time!

Looking at previous posts, others have experienced similar errors, but seemingly on more complex exports.

The error alert advises that the issue is on a txt file on the desktop, however this file is blank. The alert gives me the following info:

I'm running LRv2.6 on Vista and have only just installed (and donated!) yesterday, so should be on the latest version.

Please advise as a matter of urgency - I'll be up all night exporting now, so if any quick fixes are available, I'd appreciate your help!

You could just run mogrify from IM command line (from a terminal) and ignore LR2. Or at least give that a test. It is hard to know if this is a LR2 issue or an IM issue.

see http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/basics/#mogrify

You don't say what version of IM is being used? Does LR2 actually use IM or some borrowed code?

Sorry, You'll have to treat me as a totall novice here...
I've installed IM 6.7.1 Q16, and LR/Mogrify2 to enable me to watermark on export from Lightroom (using a PC), but it is the ImageMagick that is sending the crash alerts.

I am no way advanced enough to even follow the code in your link sent to me, I do not want anything impacting on the quality of my files as your document states, but I understood that I needed the IM software to enable Mogrify to operate on a PC thus allowing me to use Lightroom as I normally do whilst adding the watermarking to the new outputted image..

There is no problem with quality whether you use mogrify from IM or LR. All I am saying is that try using mogrify from the command line of IM and see if it works. If that is the case then the problem is with LR and its interface to IM. The mogrify command is not very hard.
