(Please Help) Converting WMF to JPG creates split image

ImageMagick 6.5.0-9 2009-03-25 Q16
Windows XP SP3
When converting from Windows Media Format (WMF) to JPG or PNG I get an image that is split horizontally. The top of the the image is the bottom 1/4 of the original, then a middle 1/4 of the original, then blank.
The original opens fine in windows image viewer and photoimpact.
I have fooled with density and depth to no avail.
Is this a bug, or does anyone have a suggestion?
