I'm using version ImageMagick-6.3.5-Q16.
I'm simply trying to open a .tif file with the following settings: 8-bit RGBA.

It just keeps displaying a "transparent" background... a checkered pattern. I am however able to open it in the Windows program Paint.

Post a URL to your TIFF image here so we can download it and reproduce the problem.

you'll see it should open fine in Internet Explorer even, but not in Image Magick.

Try this command:

• convert DB-138_Reel_08_36550_Thumbnails_04.tif +matte db.png

or

• display +matte DB-138_Reel_08_36550_Thumbnails_04.tif
