Rendered text bounding box cut at 50% height

Using this font:

http://viridian-project.de/~sky/renaissance.ttf

and the following incantation:

convert -pointsize 54 -font renaissance.ttf "label:foobar" test.png

I get an image that is cut off at 50% the height I'd expect.

I have Imagemagick 6.5.7.5 which is working fine with other fonts.

probably a corrupted font file

It does work correctly with Inkscape, for example.

I have also redownloaded it from another location without a change...
