Fred,

Thanks so much, I could have tinkered with this for hours and never come up with that. Always appreciate your quick responses!

Compositing Issue with Canvas and EXRs

Hi, Thanks everyone in advance, I'm a noobish Imagemagick user so the answer is probably obvious but for the life of me I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong here: - I'm using ImageMagick 7.0.8-Q16-HDRI - I'm trying to create a composite image that combines an ImageMagick-created canvas with 32-b...

Re: Odd behavior when compositing OpenEXR

Yes the anti-aliasing around the edge of the sphere was one of the things bugging me. PS doesn't seem to have this antialiasing issue from what I could tell. Even more concerning, I was seeing a difference in the white highlight on the sphere (not sure if you saw that too), which made me wonder if t...

Re: Odd behavior when compositing OpenEXR

Thanks Fred maybe just a boneheaded mistake on my part. Will retest and see if I can duplicate.

Odd behavior when compositing OpenEXR

Hi All, Apologies in advance if this is a noobish question. I'm using IM 7.0.5-Q16-HDRI for Windows for whatever it's worth . I'm trying to composite two EXR files using the linear dodge method but so far have been unable to replicate the output I get from Photoshop. I've added links to the followin...

Re: Compositing 32-bit images and getting strange output (colorspace issue?)

Fred, Thanks for the reply and sorry my original post wasn't clear. I believe this is a colorspace issue like you said, I am just a complete novice at dealing with them in ImageMagick. What I'm trying to do is: Recreate an existing 32-bit tif file -- Lime_SourceColor.tif which I have a link to above...

Re: Compositing 32-bit images and getting strange output (colorspace issue?)

Now that I have the first part working, I'm trying to recreate the Lime_SourceColor.tif using its two color components (black, green) and an alpha mask (see illustration below): http://nateprototype-com.stackstaging.com/ImageMagickHelp/v2/Composite_Illustration_abb.jpg Having trouble though figuring...

Re: Compositing 32-bit images and getting strange output (colorspace issue?)

Thanks for the quick reply! I was just opening the two files in photoshop and comparing them visually, maybe I was looking at two different colorspaces in photoshop and that's why they looked different on my screen. Will run a couple more tests when I get home tonight and see what I come up with.

Compositing 32-bit images and getting strange output (colorspace issue?)

Hi all, new to Imagemagick and loving it so far. Thanks in advance for any help! ImageMagick version: 7.0.5-Q16-HDRI for Windows I have an image of a sphere that was created in a 3d studio max (Lime_Correct). Nowadays these renderers have a cool feature where you can break a rendered image into its ...
